This is a fairly common request from our SiteMinder clientele.

Hi Ramon,
The problem you are seeing is quite common. Quite often SM_USERGROUPS and SM_USERNESTEDGROUPS grow to a size where the header becomes too large, and even worse, the expense on your LDAP becomes unacceptable. But most customers do not like…

Hi Brian. Back in March 2009 when I wrote the article, I was using 6QMR5 CR27. I just checked the SiteMinder Platform Support Matrix, and the Webagent readme, and Windows 2008 64-bit became supported as of 6QMR5 CR24. We always recommend that you get the latest and greatest, which would be 6QMR5 CR35, but as long as you go with CR24 or beyond, the installer should work.
Also, just as a heads up, the next major revision of the version 6 webagent, 6QMR6, is due out in February.
What web agent version are you using with 2008? When I try to install, using nete-wa-6qmr5-cr019-win64.exe, I get the error "The installer cannot run on your configuration. It will now quit." This is even running it in compatibility mode for 2003.
