Darren Spach replied to Subbarao's discussion 'Password Policies'
Hi Subbarao.  Back at CA I wrote a technote about this, and I just searched, it's still there. https://support.ca.com/phpdocs/7/5262/auth2_Password-Services-for-different-directories.pdf It's a little old (talks about Netscape…

Darren Spach replied to Raymond O'Connor's discussion 'Custom Form Page for SiteMinder SSO'
Hi Ray. I just read this, and I just want to clear up your last bit of confusion.  The reason the fcc was unprotected, and the html was protected in the same location is because .fcc is on the IgnoreExt list in the Agent Conf Object.  So…

Darren Spach replied to Subbarao's discussion 'User Store'
Hi Subbarao. Just following up on this.  Please see my blog, it tells all about what View Contents really does.  "Person" is not one of the objectclasses that SiteMinder searches for on View Contents by default, but you can…

Darren Spach replied to Brian Dudick's discussion 'Authorization Failures'
another thing to check is the clock & time zone. Every webagent works on a GMT offset, so going from a server in one time zone to a server in another time zone is fine.  BUT, the clocks have to be set accurately and the time zones have to…

Darren Spach replied to KS's discussion 'LLAWP is not comming up on IIS 6.0 and ISAPI filters is not getting enabled.'
As you noticed, the agent config wizard only sets up the agent into the Default Web Site.  BUT, the proper way to incorporate the webagent into another site is to setup the Wild Card Application Map into that new web site.  The ISAPI…

Darren Spach replied to Subbarao's discussion 'Authentication Sucess But Authorization is failing.'
One more thought, if you are seeing a constant loop... If the page you are redirecting to is in the same realm where you have this On-Accept-Redirect setup, then you will get a loop.  Every time you successfully authorize to that realm, you get…

Darren Spach replied to Shashidhar Peruru's discussion 'SMUSER does not populate properly'
SMUSER is populated with the username that is handed to the policy server during authentication.  In forms and basic auth schemes, it completely relies on what the user types in for the username field.  For windows auth, it is whatever…

Dhruv, I'm sorry I missed your post, I just saw it now as I was reading Trever's.   Dhruv, the first thing I think of when it's an Active Expression is the buffer size.  Are you sure you set it large enough?  Increase…

Hi Brian. Back in March 2009 when I wrote the article, I was using 6QMR5 CR27. I just checked the SiteMinder Platform Support Matrix, and the Webagent readme, and Windows 2008 64-bit became supported as of 6QMR5 CR24. We always recommend that you get the latest and greatest, which would be 6QMR5 CR35, but as long as you go with CR24 or beyond, the installer should work.

Also, just as a heads up, the next major revision of the version 6 webagent, 6QMR6, is due out in February.

regards,
Darren

Hi Darren,

What web agent version are you using with 2008? When I try to install, using nete-wa-6qmr5-cr019-win64.exe, I get the error "The installer cannot run on your configuration. It will now quit." This is even running it in compatibility mode for 2003.

Thanks,
Brian
